- On May 31, 2025, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced a three-month extension of certain product exclusions from Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports, covering 164 exclusions from May 2024 and 14 exclusions for solar manufacturing equipment from September 2024, effective from June 1 to August 31, 2025.
- The exclusions apply to specific products identified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), and goods entered for consumption during the effective period will benefit from these exemptions.
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will issue guidance on entry procedures related to these exclusions, and companies importing goods should stay informed about trade policy changes, review product classifications for eligibility, and monitor CBP instructions for compliance.
