- Introduction of BOPREALs for Tax Settlements: General Resolution No. 5675, effective April 16, 2025, allows Argentine taxpayers to use “Bonds for the Reconstruction for a Free Argentina” (BOPREALs) Series 1A, 1B, and 1C to settle their tax and customs obligations.
- Transfer Process and Requirements: To utilize BOPREALs, taxpayers must irrevocably transfer them to the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) using form No. 1400, which details the transaction and facilitates credit registration against their tax liabilities.
- Limitations and Exclusions: BOPREALs can be used to cancel various tax obligations, including income and value-added taxes, but are excluded from settling Social Security taxes and certain other taxes. Once transferred to ARCA, BOPREALs cannot generate a credit or refund.
