From January 1, 2026, Kazakhstan plans to introduce a new Tax Code. One of the key aspects of the reform is the almost twofold reduction of the threshold for VAT registration: mandatory registration will be required with an annual turnover of 40 million tenge (instead of the current 78.6 million tenge). At the same time, the VAT rate itself will increase from 12% to 16%.
