- The Finance Act for 2025 has introduced several VAT rate changes, including increases for electricity and natural gas subscriptions to 20% from August 1, 2025, and decreases for renewable energy heat supply to 5.5% from March 1, 2025.
- VAT rates for work on residential premises over two years old, including fossil fuel boilers, will increase to 20% from March 1, 2025, unless a quote and deposit are signed before this date. Conversely, solar energy equipment installations in dwellings will see a reduced VAT rate of 5.5% from October 1, 2025.
- A new VAT exemption has been introduced for construction and maintenance work on memorials for victims of terrorist attacks, effective from February 16, 2025.
