The Ecofin Council gave the final go-ahead to the ViDA package, to adapt EU VAT rules to the digital age. This was announced in a press release dated 11 March 2025. The package, which includes a directive, a regulation and an implementing regulation, makes changes to three different aspects of the VAT system and provides, among other things, for fully digital VAT reporting obligations for companies selling goods and services to businesses in another EU member state by 2030.
