- Expansion of E-Invoicing Mandate: Starting January 1, 2025, Hungary will expand its e-invoicing mandate to cover all business transactions in the electricity and natural gas sectors, including suppliers, traders, distributors, transmission system operators, and various non-consumer entities.
- Applicable Regulations: The mandate is based on Government Decree No. 273/2007 for electricity and Decree No. 19/2009 for natural gas, ensuring that all relevant businesses adhere to the new e-invoicing requirements.
- Flexibility and Compliance: The decree allows for flexibility in the format of e-invoices, permitting any format approved by the tax authority, while also mandating that electronic invoices be stored in compliance with VAT regulations to ensure proper record-keeping
