- Bulgaria will not extend the 9% reduced VAT rate for restaurants and catering services beyond its current expiration, returning to the standard VAT rate as confirmed in the 2025 draft budget plan, which initially aimed to support the hospitality industry during the pandemic.
- Canada’s Nova Scotia will reduce the provincial portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) from 10% to 9%, resulting in a total HST rate of 14%, effective April 2025, to alleviate the tax burden on residents.
- Ecuador announced a temporary VAT reduction to 8% for various tourist services during national holidays in November 2024, while Estonia will increase VAT rates for accommodation and press publications starting January 2025, and Vietnam has extended its 8% VAT rate until June 30, 2025, with certain exclusions remaining at the standard VAT rate.
