- On November 19, 2024, the Costa Rican Ministry of Finance published Resolution MH-DGT-RES-0027-2024 in the Official Gazette, introducing Version 4.4 of Electronic Receipts, which includes updated technical provisions, new XSD structures, and specific nodes for receipts related to the sale of medicines.
- The updated Version 4.3 will require the implementation of new nodes titled “Medication Registration” and “Pharmaceutical Form” for receipts supporting the sale of medicines, effective January 1, 2025, with a test environment available starting November 20, 2024.
- Version 4.4 will be voluntarily available from April 1, 2025, but mandatory starting June 1, 2025, at which point it will replace all previous regulations concerning electronic receipts, including DGT-R-12-2018 and DGT-R-39-2018.
