The Council of the European Union’s General Secretariat has issued a notice for the upcoming Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) meeting. The session is scheduled to take place at the Europa building in Brussels on 10 December 2024, starting at 10:00 AM.

- Approval of “A” items, both non-legislative and legislative, with public deliberation as per Article 16(8) of the Treaty on European Union.
- Legislative Deliberations:
- Customs Union Reform Package: Discussion on the regulation establishing the Union Customs Code and the European Union Customs Authority, including a progress report.
- Revision of the Energy Taxation Directive: A policy debate will be held.
- Non-legislative Activities:
- Customs Union Reform Package: Progress report on the regulation introducing simplified tariff treatment for distance sales and eliminating the customs duty relief threshold.
- European Court of Auditors’ Annual Report: Presentation and exchange of views on the implementation of the EU budget for the financial year 2023.
