E-Invoicing Initiative Launch: The UAE government has launched an e-invoicing website through the Ministry of Finance portal, emphasizing the country’s commitment to mandatory e-invoicing starting in the second quarter of 2026, as part of its digital economy efforts.
Phased Implementation: The e-invoicing mandate will be rolled out gradually, with a complete implementation by June 2026. Businesses will follow a phased schedule based on specific criteria, and advance notice will be given for the requirements.
E-Invoicing Framework and Compliance: Each VAT group member must use a UAE Accredited Service Provider (ASP) to issue and receive e-invoices via the Peppol network. The 5-corner Peppol model includes data validation by ASPs, compliance with UAE data standards, and tax data reporting to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and Ministry of Finance. The timeline includes service provider accreditation starting in Q4 2024, legislative updates in Q2 2025, and the go-live for B2B and B2G e-invoicing in Q2 2026.
