- The temporary zero VAT rate on essential foodstuffs in Spain ended on September 30, 2024, and these products are now subject to a reduced rate of 4%.
- Olive oil is planned to be considered an essential foodstuff and will be included in the list of products benefiting from a super reduced VAT rate of 4% starting from January 1, 2025.
- The VAT rates for certain energy products, such as electricity, natural gas, and wood for energy, have also changed, with increased rates ranging from 10% to 5% during specific periods.
