- The Romanian government has adopted Emergency Ordinance no. 107/2024, which introduces a nationwide tax amnesty.
- The tax amnesty includes the waiver of interest, penalties, and additional charges for outstanding debts as of August 31, 2024, for all taxpayers.
- To benefit from the tax amnesty, taxpayers must meet certain conditions, including submitting the application before November 25, 2024, settling outstanding tax liabilities, and filing all relevant tax returns.
- Taxpayers with running tax payment schedules or those securing tax payment schedules between September 6 and November 25, 2024, may also benefit from the tax amnesty if the payment schedule ends by the date of the application.
- Profit taxpayers and microenterprise taxpayers may receive a 3% discount on their annual profit/income tax for fiscal year 2024 or the modified fiscal year starting in 2024, subject to certain conditions. The discount is offset against tax liabilities.
