On September 2, 2024, the Slovenian lower house of Parliament (Državni Zbor) began consideration of Bill No. 1683-IX, which proposes amendments to the VAT Act, including: increased VAT registration threshold to €60,000, VAT exemption for disaster relief, limit on lower VAT rates for phytopharmaceuticals and artificial fertilizers, cross-border VAT exemptions for Slovenian tax residents, and measures to incorporate EU Directives 2020/285 and 2022/542.
