From 5 August 2024, agents must update client VAT registration details through the client’s VAT Online Account, not using the VAT484 form. Only clients can submit changes to bank account details and email addresses through their VAT Online Account. Using the digital route is faster, more secure, and avoids delays. HMRC will provide support for customers who are digitally excluded or need assistance through non-digital channels. Customers who are unable to access digital services can still apply for changes via post using a VAT484 form by contacting HMRC.
