On June 28, 2024, the government approved an emergency ordinance to amend regulations related to e-Transport, e-VAT, and e-Invoice. The penalties for offenses committed from this date onwards are postponed for authorized economic operators until January 1, 2025, for international road transport under the e-Transport legislation. The National Union of Road Transporters from Romania (UNTRR) has urged the Romanian Government to extend the deadlines for penalties related to non-compliance with Article 82 of the Emergency Ordinance no. 41, established on April 8, 2022, which set up the national system for monitoring goods transport, known as RO e-Transport. UNTRR’s statement explained that the delay was requested because the National Center for Financial Information under the Ministry of Finance failed to provide transport operators with the free IT modules necessary for tracking the transport vehicles using telecommunications terminal devices.
