The Irish Department of Finance is considering making e-invoicing mandatory for B2B and B2G transactions. A new consultation in July 2024 focused on modernizing the VAT administration system, with plans to accelerate e-invoicing in the EU market. Ireland has already introduced B2G e-invoicing and is aligned with the EU standard for e-invoicing, using the PEPPOL network. The Office of Government Procurement has published guidelines for sending compliant eInvoices.
