- In July 2024, the Council adopted its general approach on the Green Claims Directive proposal and the proposal for amending Directive 2008/98/EC on waste.
- Additionally, the Council adopted the Regulation on nature restoration, which requires Member States to take measures to mitigate climate change and its natural disaster effects as part of the EU Biodiversity Strategy.
- These developments will form the basis for negotiations with the European Parliament in the new legislative cycle.
