The Romanian Ministry of Finance is mandating e-Invoicing for business-to-consumer transactions starting January 1, 2025, to enhance transparency and combat tax evasion. Businesses must use the RO e-Invoice system, with exemptions for simplified invoices under 100 euros. The phased implementation begins on July 1, 2024, and non-compliance will result in penalties of up to 15% of the invoice value. e-Invoicing offers benefits such as improved accuracy, enhanced security, cost savings, and combating tax evasion.
