The Romanian Ministry of Finance has introduced a bill to further expand the country’s e-invoicing mandates, with the final stage of B2B electronic invoicing set to begin in July. The bill proposes a two-staged implementation for B2C invoicing, with a voluntary phase starting on July 1st, 2024, allowing taxpayers to issue electronic invoices to customers using the RO e-Factura system. The mandatory use of the system for issuing invoices to consumers will be enforced from January 1st, 2025. The bill needs to be published before the end of June this year to establish this regime.
