The NIC launched the E-Way Bill 2 Portal on 1 June 2024 to run parallel to the main e-way bill portal, ensuring high availability and synchronization of e-way bill details within seconds. Users can use their main portal login credentials on the new portal, which offers web and API modes of operation and can be used during technical issues with the main portal. However, suppliers within the mandatory scope of CTC e-invoicing must generate e-way bills for B2B, B2G, and export transactions through the e-invoicing platform. The threshold for mandatory e-invoicing in India is currently Rs. 5 Crore.
