ZATCA has approved exemption requirements for duty-free markets in arrival lounges at all customs ports in Saudi Arabia. The maximum purchase limit is SAR 3,000 per passenger for personal use, with a maximum of 200 cigarettes per passenger. Operators can now apply for licenses to operate duty-free markets in arrival lounges by contacting ZATCA. This initiative aims to improve logistical services for duty-free market operators and enhance the experience of arriving passengers. ZATCA previously issued customs rules for establishing duty-free markets in accordance with the GCC Common Customs Law.
