On 15 April 2024, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and the Singapore Peppol Authority announced that Singapore will broaden the scope of its e-invoicing initiative which was originally introduced in 2019. Singapore uses the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) standard for e-invoicing however, the expansion of the e-invoicing requirement will also mean that GST-registered businesses will need to use InvoiceNow Solutions (“InvoiceNow”) for the transmission of invoice data to the IRAS through access point providers using application programming interface (API) technology.
