The EU Council approved the extension of the temporary suspension of import duties on products from Ukraine and Moldova for another year. This decision aims to show ongoing support for Ukraine in the face of Russian military aggression and to protect EU farmers. The measures for Ukraine will be in place from 6 June 2024 to 5 June 2025, with safeguard mechanisms for specific agricultural products. For Moldova, the measures will be in place from 25 July 2024 to 24 July 2025, also with reinforced protection for sensitive agricultural products.
