Dutch State Secretary Van Rij has sent the Dutch House of Representatives the final advice from the Advisory Board on ICT Testing regarding the Modernization of Value Added Tax program of the Tax Administration. The advice includes the following:
- The ICT systems of the Dutch tax authorities that are used for processing VAT are outdated and urgently need modernization for long-term continuity
- The modernization will lead to improved service delivery and greater system agility
- McKinsey has conducted research on the modernization approach and a package solution has been chosen for acquisition
- The Modernization of Value Added Tax program consists of 5 phases, with phases 1 and 2 already completed
- The goal is to complete the procurement process by 2026
