Introduction of E-invoicing Requirement for GST-registered Businesses in Singapore

• Singapore’s IRAS announced plans to expand the use of the InvoiceNow system, with phased implementation starting from May 1st, 2025.
• The voluntary soft launch will initially involve already GST-registered entities, followed by newly registered businesses from November 2025.
• The final phase, planned for April 2026, will allow all other GST businesses to join the network.
• IMDA aims to digitize and promote electronic invoicing in Singapore, reducing errors and processing time.
• The nationwide network, InvoiceNow, operates under the PEPPOL interoperability framework and allows transacting with entities in the broader Peppol Network.
• It is designed to complement existing EDI through straightforward integration.
