- Royal Decree 1007/2023, resulting from changes to the General Tax Law, aims to enhance the reliability, accessibility, and traceability of billing records through the ‘Veri*factu’ regulation.
- The ‘Veri*factu’ regulation not only combats tax evasion but also facilitates digitalization by improving services from the Tax Agency and serving as a foundation for a more comprehensive electronic invoicing model.
- While the regulation applies nationwide, there are exceptions for certain territories and businesses already using alternative reporting methods. Compliance is required by July 1, 2025, and support will be provided to SMEs and self-employed individuals through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. The regulation covers various technical specifications and integration of billing records into record books.
