- On March 4, 2024, the Italian Chamber of Deputies approved Italy’s subscription to the Additional Protocol of the Convention on the contract for the international carriage of goods by road concerning the electronic consignment note (e-CMR).
- The e-CMR is an electronic communication issued by the carrier or other parties involved in international transport, with data integrity guaranteed by an advanced electronic signature.
- Compared to the traditional paper consignment note (CMR), the e-CMR offers transparency, cost reduction, efficiency, and improved logistics management, as well as facilitating proof recovery in Intra-EU supplies of goods. Additionally, it reduces the risk of document loss and has environmental benefits.
