Belgium plans to implement mandatory B2B e-invoicing starting from January 1, 2026. The new regulation requires electronic invoices to be structured and will use the Peppol-BIS format as the standard. The law applies to taxpayers in Belgium for local B2B transactions and aims to close the VAT gap and simplify business processes. While the official entry into force is in 2026, businesses are encouraged to prepare for the transition to electronic invoicing.
