Belgium has approved mandatory national implementation of electronic invoicing, extending the requirement to private-sector taxpayers from January 1, 2026. The new e-invoicing requirements will utilize the Peppol framework and harmonize with the ViDA proposal. The mandate applies to domestic B2B transactions, with exclusions for certain taxpayer categories, and offers tax incentives to ease the financial impact on businesses. An information campaign will educate businesses about the upcoming changes, and the draft law requires authorization from the European Commission and adherence to EU legislation.
