Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board has released a Software Development Kit to help businesses integrate with the electronic invoicing system, which will be mandatory from July. The kit includes a guide for setting up connections with APIs, standard error codes, document type explanations, and a FAQ section. This development removes a barrier for software providers to comply with future e-invoicing mandates. The mandatory start dates for e-Invoicing are August 1st, 2024 for taxpayers with turnover of > 100 million MYR per annum, January 1st, 2025 for taxpayers with turnover of > 25 million MYR per annum, and July 1st, 2025 for all other taxpayers.
