The Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has extended the “Cancellation of Fines and Exemption of Penalties” initiative until 30 June 2024. This extension aims to assist taxpayers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative covers fines for late registration, late payment, late filing of returns, fines related to VAT returns, and violations of VAT field control. Taxpayers must meet certain requirements to benefit from the initiative, including registering with the tax law, submitting all previously unsubmitted returns, and paying the principal tax debt. ZATCA encourages taxpayers to take advantage of the initiative and provides details on its website for further information and inquiries.
