- Romania has made progress in enhancing its e-Invoicing regulations, with changes bringing benefits for businesses and the government.
- E-Invoicing to public bodies (B2G) has been mandatory since July 1, 2022, and for specific supplier groups in the B2B sector.
- As of January 1, 2024, B2B electronic invoicing will be mandatory for both resident and non-resident businesses.
- The RO e-Factura system has been created for electronic invoicing, with a user guide released by the Ministry of Finance. Businesses need to register through the Virtual Private Space (SPV) website to submit e-Invoices.
- The format of Romanian e-Invoices must comply with the European standard EN 16931-1+A1 and the national RO-CIUS rules.
