The Finance Minister announced an increase in the service tax rate on digital services provided by Foreign Registered Persons to consumers in Malaysia from 6% to 8%, effective from March 1, 2024. The Royal Malaysian Customs Department will release guidelines for a smooth transition, and Foreign Registered Persons are advised to review and adjust their arrangements accordingly.
