Latvia has published the Law of 6 December 2023 amending the Law on Taxes and Fees, implementing the joint audit rules of Council Directive (EU) 2021/514 for exchanging information on income generated by sellers through digital platforms (DAC7). DAC7 requires digital platforms to collect, verify, and report information on sellers and strengthens cooperation between Member States’ tax authorities. Latvia partially implemented DAC7 through the Law of 22 December 2023 but received a formal notice from the European Commission to complete full implementation, including joint audit rules. The Law of 6 December 2023 will enter into force on 1 January 2024.
