The NF-e portal released version 1.30 of NT 2021.003 on December 5, 2023, which requires brand owners to report and validate Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) through the GTIN Centralized Cadastre (CCG) during the issuance of e-Invoices. Only registered GTIN barcodes in the GS1 database will be accepted for the cEAN and cEANTrib fields, with a validation rule provided in the technical note. Group III products are listed on pages 15 and 16 of the note, and manufacturing industries must verify GTINs in the CCG Registry. The implementation timeline is April 1, 2024, for approval and September 2, 2024, for production.
