Luxembourg will return to its standard VAT rates of 17%, 14%, and 8% starting January 1, 2024. The temporary reduction, which was implemented due to high inflation rates, will be in effect from January to December 2023, with VAT rates adjusted to 16%, 13%, and 7% for the standard, reduced, and another reduced category respectively. The super-reduced VAT rate of 3% will remain unchanged and will apply to specific items such as food products, pharmaceuticals, books, magazines, newspapers, children’s clothing and shoes, restaurant services, and passenger transport.
