- The Romanian legislation on fiscal-budgetary measures for long-term financial stability has been signed into law.
- The legislation includes VAT and other tax-related matters, and makes the use of electronic invoices mandatory.
- The implementation will be done in two phases, with the first phase starting on 1 January 2024 and the second phase on 1 July 2024.
- There will be a grace period from 1 January to 31 March 2024 with no penalties.
- Non-compliance with the law can result in penalties ranging from 1000 LEI to 10000 LEI.
