Now that the European plan for an excise duty on e-cigarettes or vapes is taking too long, the government sees something in introducing such an excise duty itself. The condition is that the House of Representatives explicitly asks for this: State Secretary Maarten van Ooijen (Prevention) emphasizes that the cabinet has fallen and is therefore resigning. But the Chamber still has full clout. He then invites the House to come up with a plan to this end.
