The 52nd GST Council meeting will be held on October 7, 2023, in New Delhi and will review the progress made by various states in implementing changes to the State GST law. The meeting will be chaired by the Union Finance Minister along with other officials. The amendments to the Central GST and Integrated GST laws were approved in the previous meeting to provide clarity on the 28% tax on bets in online gaming, casinos, and horse race clubs. The review of the SGST law amendments will help streamline and harmonize the GST regime. The 28% GST on online gaming will undergo a review after six months of implementation, and notices have been sent to online gaming companies and casino operators. The demand raised against Gameskraft for Rs. 21,000 crores is still in dispute before the Supreme Court.
