The Portuguese government has extended the zero VAT rate to basic food until the end of 2023. The exemption applies to 46 everyday foods, from fruit and vegetables, to bread, dairy, meat and fish. Also the Cypriot government has decided to extend the zero VAT rate on essential goods for extra 6 months, adding also coffee and sugar to the list.
