- Hungary is introducing a new platform called M2M eVAT from January 1, 2024, which will allow taxpayers to submit VAT returns electronically via machine-to-machine communication.
- The system aims to reduce administrative burdens for taxpayers and tax authorities, decrease the number of taxpayer inspections and inquiries, and improve the fight against tax fraud.
- It is expected that eVAT will replace the existing monthly Control Statement for domestic sales and purchases in Hungary.
