Switzerland is currently in the midst of implementing some significant VAT rate changes which are scheduled for 1 January 2024. This includes an overhaul of its standard, reduced and special accommodation rates. Further, re-classification of specific services, including travel services resold by travel agencies and participation in cultural events, under the ‘VAT exempt’ category. The appointment of fiscal representatives for foreign taxpayers may be removed.
