- Spain has published a bill on 23 May 2023 that aligns the General Tax Law with the EU DAC 7 directive, which introduces new reporting and due diligence requirements for digital platform operators offering goods and services via their platforms.
- The bill also imposes penalties for noncompliance, sets out consequences for sellers who fail to provide required information, and introduces an obligation to retain records and documentation for 10 years.
- The DAC 7 effective date remains 1 January 2023, and a public consultation process on regulations for the DAC 7 rules has started on 12 June.
