In July 2023, Euro headline inflation feel 5.5% in June to 5.3%. However, core inflation, which strips out energy, food, alcohol & tobacco, remained at 5.5%. Last month was highest in Slovakia (10.2%), followed by Croatia (8.1%) and Lithuania (7.1%).
This has prompted many countries to bring forward temporary food VAT rate cuts.
