- This includes a VAT exemption on imported medical equipment and building materials, as well as a waiver of penalties, interest, and fees for the settlement of outstanding VAT arrears up to financial year 2021.
- The amnesty runs from 2 August 2023 to 1 August 2025 and aims to provide economic relief for the public and spur economic development.
- The VAT amnesty on medical equipment will make vital medical exams more affordable and accessible, while the amnesty on building materials will reduce costs for home remodeling and construction projects.
- The Tax Amnesty on VAT arrears offers a 100% waiver on penalties, interest, and collection fees up to financial year 2021, potentially redirecting more than $200 million back into the economy.
- The Government of Saint Lucia continues to prioritize “people first” policies to benefit ordinary citizens.
