The Ministry of Finance stated that recently, some areas were affected by Typhoon Du-Su, resulting in disasters. The Ministry of Finance has requested tax authorities under its jurisdiction to adopt a lenient and prompt approach, actively assisting and guiding taxpayers affected by the disaster in applying for various tax reductions and exemptions.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance provides details of the reduction and exemption regulations for income tax, business tax, commodity tax, tobacco and alcohol tax, property tax, land value tax, vehicle license tax, and entertainment tax (please refer to the “Disaster Loss Tax Reduction and Exemption List”). Taxpayers are reminded to make full use of the Ministry of Finance’s online tax portal (https://www.etax.nat.gov.tw) to apply for tax reductions and exemptions. If there are any unclear points regarding the regulations or application procedures for disaster loss tax reductions and exemptions, taxpayers can inquire at the nearest tax authorities or call the toll-free service hotline 0800-000-321 during office hours, where dedicated personnel will explain to you.
