- The 50th meeting of the GST Council was held on July 11, 2023, chaired by the Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister.
- The Council made recommendations regarding taxation of casinos, horse races, and online gaming, as well as measures to streamline GST compliance and facilitate trade.
- The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs issued several circulars clarifying issues related to GST laws, including utilization of wrongly availed IGST credit and dealing with differences in ITC availed.
- Clarifications were also provided regarding compliances under section 52 of the CGST Act, availability of ITC in respect of warranty replacement of parts and repair services during the warranty period, and more.
