The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) wishes to advise all taxpayers that in its quest to continually improve the quality and efficiency of services, effective August 31, 2023, the GRA will be discontinuing the usage of cheques for the payment of refunds of VAT and other taxes. All refund payments will now be done electronically utilising the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) system directly to the taxpayers’ bank accounts. To this effect, all VAT registrants and taxpayers entitled to a refund of taxes are required to provide their banking details to the GRA immediately if not previously submitted to ensure a seamless and timely payout of refunds.
