South Korea’s Ministry of Finance and Economics has launched tax reforms that allow purchasers to claim deductions by issuing invoices in scenarios where suppliers cannot. The 2022 Tax Revision Bill stipulates that this will come into effect from 1 July 2023, but only for goods and services that hold VAT liability. Exempt supplies cannot be claimed in this way and require confirmation from a district tax office.
