- The National Bureau for Revenue in Bahrain has issued an RFP titled “E-invoicing central platform and maintenance” to develop a cohesive e-invoicing ecosystem in the country.
- The central platform will receive and validate e-invoicing data from businesses’ integrated e-invoicing solutions.
- The NBR aims to encourage system developers to create compliant e-invoicing solutions, businesses to register/integrate their e-invoicing solutions with NBR’s E-Invoicing Central Platform, generate e-invoices in a standardized format, and share data with NBR in a secure manner.
- The verification of e-invoicing data and identifying non-compliance (if any) is also mentioned.
- This move brings Bahrain closer to implementing an electronic invoicing obligation with a CTC model soon.
